The 3 Stages of "Learning to Dance" from a young male's perspective

Stage 1 In Year 8 when a young male attends a social and he wishes to dance with a lady, he asks her to join him on the dance floor and then proceeds to receive his lessons at once on the floor. And as told to me by my second son, first you need to get the feet going - there is no need to look at your dance partner or even talk to her; you just have to get those feet moving.

Stage 2 In Year 9 you incorporate the hand movements and soon you have both the hands and feet going together. You still haven't lifted your head or spoken to your partner  - however you are on the floor and moving.

Stage 3 The next year, Year 10, you actually manage to have the hands and feet moving plus you might even manage a few verbal niceties to your partner. But as advised when you're smashed you can do anything and dancing then becomes quite enjoyable.

This sounds incredibly structured - Fred Astaire move over!
